I have purchased ho ho which is great to create ringtones with my palm tungsten w but how can i transfer theese to the mobile profiles of my palm?
|
The official version of HoHo cannot do it BUT I have a patched version that I can send to everyone who buys the official version and who asks for the patch.
Please contact me directly and I'll send you the patched version that supports Tungsten W ringtones.
Also, the next official version of HoHo (coming in July) will support Tungsten W.

Hi,
I am wishing to purchase a program that would enable me to download ringtones for my Palm Tungsten W. Can you help?
|
HoHo 4.0 has just been released. It is fully Tungsten W compatible. Try it!

Dear Mr. Wong:
I would like to help you answer this question, but to do so, I will need you to be more specific as to what exactally you did.
> I can download Nokia ringtones to my Tungsten/W.
What method did you use to download them? Did you have a text message sent (i.e. a Nokia Smart Message or an EMS message) to your phone? This would be the case if you used one of the many services available on the Internet (you would have had to pay for this type of service)? Did you import the RingTone from a Palm Memo which was loaded from a ".txt" file?
> But, when I import it and play, it's all garbled.
Right! Did you have the RingTone saved as a Tungsten/W Alarm or Ringtone, and then use HoHo's "MIDI Import" feature, or, once again, did you import it from a Palm Memo?
If you imported your tone from a Memo, please check that you have selected "Nokia" from the list of formats in the drop-down list in the top-right corner of HoHo's Main screen. If there is only one entry: "HoHo (built-in)" then you must install the necessary plug-ins. These are included in the same ".zip" file in which the main HoHo program was located. You must install these onto your Tungsten in order to use them.
Question: You say "Garbled". Please be more specific. Did the ringtone actually play, and it didn't sound right? or did HoHo complain about "wrong note"s when you tried to play it?

Hi Aaron,
Thks for the reply. I have used a normal Nokia (e.g., 8210)way (paid)to download to the T/W. And the file was save under MobileRingToneDB. When played under Nokia format (after MIDI import), it did played but the tune was incorrect.

Right! That was the other possibility that I had thought of. In this case, the MIDI Import Plug-in still needs to be worked on, I've noticed this also. What you can do, as your only option at the moment, is to play the ringtone directally from your MobileRingToneDB database. If you want to make a Palm Alarm out of it, you can use the "Copy To" command (in the MIDI manager Screen) to copy it to System MIDI Sounds. Then, if you use other programs like BugMe! or DateBk 4/5 (I don't know if Agendus has this ability or not, but I would assume it does) you can assign a custom sound to the alarm for each appointment on an appt-by-appt basis (or for each reminder in the case of BugMe!) I personally have only used DateBk 5, but I think I read something on PalmGear that said that BugMe! has this option. Oh well! (That's a deep subject :P ) On one of the other discussions, RaNo described the basic procedure that the MIDI Import Plug-in uses to import MIDI files.

how will i transfer. i really have no idea. i dowloaded a trial version of hoho to my palm but still dont know what to do
|
First you have to find ringtones e.g. on the Internet. They must be in one of the formats supported by HoHo (e.g. Nokia, Siemens, Ericsson...). You may also take them from HoHo's homepage.
Then paste such text ringtone in HoHo. Now, refer to this HoHo FAQ topic: How to create the ringtones for Tungsten W?

How can I send midis for example (canyon.mid) from pc to my Tungsten/w and how to set it up as a ring tone. I have already purchased the full version of HOHO.
|
Marcelo, I have replied to your question in a separate thread you've started.
Kenny, use the Simply Install - Pilot Install application to transfer *.mid files from PC to Palm. Then use HoHo's MIDI Manager to move them from the "System MIDI Sounds" database to the "MobileRingToneDB" database.

i install on my palm . this software support *.wave.
i install *.wave on my SDcard. but software can't play *.wave.
what' your idea? | |
|
I see. I'm not sure about MMPlayer, but I think it does play *.wav files. The best thing you can do is ask the authors of MMPlayer at www.mmplayer.com
MMPlayer, however, cannot be used with ringtones.

Palm Tungsten W can only play SMF0 MIDI files, but it's not easy to find them by this technical term.
You can use a conversion tool (click here to download). You can convert any MIDI files to "Format 0". Unfortunately some music data may be lost during the conversion.
