There's a conflict with Blazer: when I use the shortcut combination, the shortcut symbol are changed to "Search..." text and the shortcut doesn't work... anyway to fix this?

Do you refer to the "Find Text on Page" screen? There's some kind of automatic text input used in that text field, and it seems it won't let you enter any special characters. That's hardcoded in Blazer and I'm afraid there's not much I can do to fix it. | |
