Mobile phones seem to get better from month to month, and even if one compares the phones on sale today with those of a year or two ago, it could be said with confidence that it has never been a better time to get a great value mobile phone deal. Cameras now come as pretty much standard, and we expect to get an MP3 type player with a decent battery life. At the present time, everyone is talking about two mobiles: the Samsung Tocco Ultra and the HTC Magic. We look here at these two great phones, comparing and contrasting their various features.

Firstly, let's look at the Samsung Tocco Ultra. Samsung is famous for its sliding phones, which are both stylish and practical. Where the Samsung Tocco Ultra goes one better on previous models is that incorporated into the usual slide phone setup is a touch screen keyboard, similar to that on the now infamous Apple iPhone. This enables you to type faster than on a standard phone keyboard, but more importantly is of great help when browsing the Internet. The Samsung Tocco Ultra boasts connection speeds equivalent to that which you would get at home or in the office, and the chance to download MP3s, e-mails and so on at high speed. You also get access to Vodafone's Mobile Internet which gives you all sorts of useful features. Possibly the best thing about the Samsung Tocco Ultra, in addition to the 8 megapixel camera, is the built in GPS system - so should you ever get lost, fear not, because your phone will tell you exactly where you are in the world!

The second of the two mobiles is the HTC Magic. This again has as its main attraction the ability to browse the web at high speed, but as opposed to the Samsung Tocco Ultra's 2.8" touch screen, the HTC Magic boasts a 3.2" touch screen. It boasts similar features to the first phone but if you are mainly going to be using your phone to browse the Internet, this is the one to go for. It is marginally more expensive but the advantages are clear because you get unlimited access to the mobile web, subject to a fair usage policy. The HTC Magic is also a very fashionable mobile to have especially as summer is here and you are likely to be out and about a lot more.

Common to both of these fantastic phones is the fact that if you buy through Vodafone, you can take advantage of their amazing promotion on at present - free roaming in over 35 countries. This means that after having opted in to the Vodafone Passport service, you are able to send and receive calls, texts and so on at no additional charge while abroad. Arguably the most talked about mobile phone deal in recent months, it probably cannot be bettered because there literally aren't any hidden extras.

You can find both the Samsung Tocco Ultra and HTC Magic along with Apple's widely coveted new iPhone 4.
